23XI Racing’s Bubba Wallace came into Saturday’s Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona with the hopes of finally ending his two yearlong winless streak and secure a spot in the 2024 playoffs. But his dream was shattered as Harrison Burton scored his maiden win to lock-in a place in the playoff, while also knocking him out of the last-16.
Going into Martinsville for the regular season finale next-week, Bubba Wallace is 21 pints off of Chris Buescher who is P16 in the standing and the winning the event is the most viable way for him to secure a spot in the playoffs. What makes his run more disappointing is the fact that his teammate Tyler Reddick is the points leader with two wins to his name.
Bubba Wallace: "Got one care fighting for a regular season championship and another on the bubble. It's unacceptable. I'll take all that weight on my shoulders. I should've won multiple times and I haven't. We don't even deserve to be here and we aren't. Gotta go win, that's it."
