Delicious Vegetarian Meals In The Magic Kingdom

Eating as a vegetarian is remarkably easy and consistently delicious at Walt Disney World. If you are a vegetarian, or just need a break from meat, here are some of the incredible options available at the Magic Kingdom. For this initial foray we’re sticking with quick service options. In future weeks, we’ll explore some of the options at the other Walt Disney World parks and resorts, as well as some of the vegetarian table service options.

1. Casey’s Corner Plant-Based Loaded-Slaw Dog

Situated at the hub end of Main Street, Casey’s Corner is sort of the quintessential All-American food joint. Serving a variety of hot dogs and fries with ragtime piano accompaniment outside, it’s a must stop dining spot. You wouldn’t think of it as being vegetarian friendly, but Casey’s offers a delicious vegetarian dog: the plant-based, loaded slaw-dog. It’s a plant-based sausage on a bun, topped with Pickled Slaw, BBQ Vegan Aïoli and Roasted Corn Relish and served with French Fries or Apple Slices. It costs $11.99 or one quick service meal credit.

2. Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe Plant-Based Sloppy Joe

Our family loves Cosmic Ray’s and always makes a point of paying a visit so we can listen to the inimitable Sonny Eclipse sing his super swinging songs. The restaurant used to offer a veggie burger, but has since replaced it with a plant-based Sloppy Joe. It is made of plant-based beef crumbles tossed in a Sloppy Joe sauce of diced onions, yellow mustard, ketchup, garlic, and brown sugar served with French fries. The Sloppy Joe is $12.99 or one quick service meal credit.

3. Columbia Harbour House Vegetarian Chili

Columbia Harbour House is our family’s Disney comfort food. We always make a point of eating there (my son is addicted to the lobster roll) and it’s always fun to dine there and then slip over to the Haunted Mansion. In terms of vegetarian options, you can get a bowl of vegetarian chili. Disney doesn’t list the ingredients on their official page, but you can find them online if you’re curious. The chili is only $6.49, meaning if you’re on a dining plan it will only cost you a snack credit.

4. Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe Tacos 3 Ways

Pecos Bill offers a few vegetarian options, including a veggie cheese burger, veggie nachos, and a veggie rice bowl, but if you’re looking for the hidden gem check out the Tacos 3 Ways. You get three soft shell tacos. To make it vegetarian, simply order it with the spicy breaded cauliflower topped with 5-spice yogurt and pineapple salsa. The meal costs $10.99 or a single quick service meal credit.

5. Pinocchio Village Haus Margherita Flatbread

Set deep in the heart of Fantasyland, Pinocchio Village Haus offers a variety of Italian pastas, antipasto, and even Italian cream cake to satisfy your sweet tooth. If you’re looking for a vegetarian option, you can’t go wrong with the margherita flatbread. It’s a flatbread topped with shredded mozzarella, fresh tomatoes, mozzarella pearls and basil. It costs $11.99 or one quick service credit.
