Is the Auto shop in GTA 5 really worth buying?:

The Auto Shop is the newest business property added to GTA 5 as a part of the Los Santos Tuners DLC. The Auto Shop is purchased as different properties around the map by the player and is managed by KDJ(MoodyMan) and his girlfriend Sessanta. Together, they help the player earn money through the Auto Shop.

Auto Shop locations are spread throughout Los Santos. They range anywhere between $1,670,000 to $4,350,000 depending on the location and upgrades put into them. The best option is the La Mesa Auto Shop that sells for a base price of $1,920,000 however, players on a budget can look into less expensive options such as Mission Row or Strawberry Auto Shop which can set the player back around $1,700,000.

The most profitable part of the Auto Shop business is its contract Jobs. These are essentially “mini-heists” involving 2 setup missions and a finale. Each contract takes around 20-25 mins to complete rewarding around $180,000 and there are 8 contract jobs in total. An extra $75,000 will be given for a first-time completion. Completing all the contracts takes around 4-5 hours in total and the player receives a total of around 2.1 million GTA Dollars(including the first time bonus).

The second part of the Auto Shop involves the car lift service shop. Cars are randomly brought in here for the player to service and deliver them to the buyer. The player must first match the upgrades on the vehicle along with the required order. The player must then pay a security deposit of $25,000 and deliver it himself or send a staff member to deliver it. Upon delivering the vehicle to the location, the player gets back the security deposit after deducting any damages incurred to the vehicle during delivery plus an additional $35,000.

There is also an additional exotic exports list however the reward and consistency of it vary largely. The cars on the list must first be found in free-mode or in the different locations around Los Santos and Blaine County and then must be delivered to the Docks for a measly sum of $25,000.

Overall, there is no denying that the Auto shop is a very profitable business. The contract jobs alone can help make back the money invested into the Auto Shop very quickly along with additional profits. The vehicle workshop also serves as a nice way for some semi-active income. The Auto Shop, however, gets a little pricey and the Auto Shop does not prove to be as profitable as some of the other money-making methods in the game.

In conclusion, the Auto Shop is a welcome purchase for veteran and seasoned players of the game who have most other businesses, however, new or intermediate players should really consider investing their GTA Dollars into some other property or vehicle such as the Arcade or the Kosatka.
